Artist's Comments

Another one of my night time landscape photos. This one under the full moon of September 2001. Exposure roughly 20 minutes on Fuji Provia 100F.

Composition is pretty much typical for this subject matter, but there isn't too much one can do on top of rock jutting out of the Lake Superior waters in the middle of the night. I dig the yellow cast given off my the city likes of Duluth and Superior, as well as the water texture that is acheived with exposures of this length. My damn Pontiac managed to make its way into the scene to. I usualy hate having automobiles in my works, but I like the way this one sneaked in.

Sorry folks it’s not another ladybug! This time I actually waited all week to feature this. I have silently been watching six-something for a while now. I came across Lake Superior While We Sleep by where time exposures do not get much better than this. Shot with slide film, six-something has brought us a very surreal photograph of Lake Superior with a very nice long exposure of 20 minutes, which produced this unfound light and smooth water. The ambiance of this photograph is simply amazing. You think this looks great? Check out the rest of his gallery! (flummox sends non lady bugs) (Selected by +olya) (Featured by `olya)

Amazing... truly amazing. It has such a serine feel to it. I was glancing at some thumbnails and this one caught my attention the most out of all the fourty two I looked at... it seems to have an emotional draw to it or something. Excellent work!

oh my fuck... as far as night photography goes, this is a masterpiece... this is what night photography should be... +favs... i cant wait til i can get out in the country and do some long(this is what i consider long) exposures like this... the distant city lights add so much also... the only qualm i have is the car being in the pic... anyways, being that night photography is my 'thing' this really hits home if ya know what i mean...
:iconprcr:
this just seems so surreal... like something from out of this world... i mean, one can't really tell if it's day or night, there's that bright yellow luminosity on the horizon but the rocks and the beach are so dark...

i like how your car shows up at the corner of the picture, it's a very nice detail, in my opinion.

so... songratulations, you've taken another awesome photo!
